2005 Outstanding Women Professionals & Entrepreneurs Award Presentation Dinner
The presentation dinner was well attended by 230 members and guests. Apart from the six awardees and their respective nominators, the panel judges and past awardees, prominent members of the society, including Professor Paul Chu, President of HKUST, Ms Sun Aqing, Deputy Director General of China Liaison Office Coordinating Dept; Dr. Chiang Chen, Chairman of the Chen Hsong Group; Ms Shelly Lee, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs; Dr. E K Yeoh, former Secretary for Health and Welfare; and Mrs. Peggy Lam, joined this happy occasion.
Mrs Anson Chan, head judge of the panel of judges for the Award, and former Chief Secretary of the HKSAR Government made a delightful speech on how women today take the helm of both the board room and the dining room, and how the words "women" and "leadership" are no longer viewed as "odd couples".
A supplement introducing HKWPEA, the Award, and the Award winners appeared in the Hong Kong Economic Times on 8 June, 2005.
