Members were invited to explore New World’s latest immersive event: “Discover the State Theatre in All of Us”, curated by the non-profit Culture For Tomorrow. Held within the State Theatre, a Grade 1 historic building, this private event uncovers some of the forgotten stories of Hong Kong’s last surviving movie palace. Highlights include over 100 pieces of artefacts, oral history as told by the founder’s family, a rare poster of Bruce Lee’s final film “Game of Death”, live performances and a special State Theatre-themed playlist compiled by the renowned music critic Wong Chi-chung.
This was a farewell to State Theatre’s dilapidated state, and a chance for us to reminisce about its most memorable moments, before it returns in 2026.
